Bev, These are beautiful birds.

8:02 mom is up off the nest bowl and the chicks are bobbing up and down. Mom is watchful.

8:05 Mom moves to the 3 side of the nest.

8:15 Mom broods facing 12.

4:19 Mom is brooding and faces 3. She is calling out every once in awhile. Then she checks on the chicks.

4:41 Parent is up and the chicks are too.




Both chicks are up


4:43 Parent is up and the lets are resting. I have not seen a feeding.

6:15 both parents are on the nest.


6:18 Parent is feeding the chicks.

Good morning! Thanks for the reports, Donna! Must say this is a different looking nest than the ones I'm used to in Maine.

I've been watching for a little while, and it seems that both adults have been on the nest fairly often, at least while I've been watching.

Here are a couple of pictures from earlier today, and they're both there again now. I've seen the chicks pop up, but haven't gotten a clear look at them - think it will be different when the sun's at a different angle.

Lovely view - and now the second adult is back again.

12:04 to 12:18 Mom is brooding facing 9. She is watchful but never on alert. Did not see the chicks. Mom did some preening.

3:30 to 3:34 Both parents on the nest. Both chicks are up and watching the parents.





I did not see a feeding though the chicks looked ready.

3:45 I parent on the nest brooding the chicks.

Mom is brooding on this beautiful blue sky morning


8:47 Mom has been up for awhile and the chicks were snoozin. Now they are moving up and down.




I have not seen dad or food.

9:40 Both parents on the nest. Dad brought in hay. I may have missed a feeding.





Dad did not stay long after I tuned in.
