They have been self feeding at 11/12 all evening too. I looked at the overhead but could not really tell what the food source is.

An aside note: Jannice there was a bear in the tree under the nest at the Clark Fork nest last night. Sue has 4 videos there and that bear is big. I had no idea that a bear would go after eaglets. You might want to have a look at the videos.

Thanks CAL4 I don't know what I would have done seeing a bear that close, I sure hope that was a one time deal thats for sure

June 5, 2011 sunny and hot into the low 90's today.

I'll be back with some pics from this afternoon.

In this pic you can see one eaglet most likely Scout either way up and at the edge of the fence at 3 or on a branch there......



This is the eaglets in the same position and it looks like only one is in the nest, but they are both there as seen above. This is from the overhead cam.


They have been staying in the shade at 11/12.

5:03 Ma has food at 3.



5:23 Ma is ready to exit at 6.




6:01 Glory using those big wings to move to center nest.

7:25 I cannot get this to trim but the height of this wing hop is impressive. I think it is Glory but I just tuned in and saw it so I am not sure which eaglet it is. (I removed the oversized scap that I had posted here)

ETA Jannice has posted a youtube for June 5 that shows both eaglets getting higher and higher with their big wing hops. Scroll down on this page to view it. It clearly shows the height and distance the eaglets are getting now that they are almost into their tenth week.

June 6, 2011 high 50's overnight and into the low 90's today. We seem to have haze along the front range......perhaps smoke haze from the White Mt. fires in Arizona.
