Peter/Sawrat that is so funny, I panned a couple of times to see if you might be out there, but saw no sign of you at the Mill. Hope you have some better over the top pic's then I.
This pair should be hatching anyday now ,If they haven't allready( Talons crossed )
I haven't signed on to flicker yet so only have one to post for now with another short video ,But still having a little problem trying to figure out what you and Richard where telling me about cutting down the image size! (?) so it doesn't take me 6hr. to upload a 4min. video. Both Ma and Pa in the nest before the swap.

Yes it will be interesting to meet the man who is so willing to dangle high up on the equipment there.
My camera is a EOS 30D, so I would probably be able to fit the same type of lens. Hopefully we can compare notes at the lunch.
As for "Ma on a fish hunt" I often go out on my deck to see the tide is very low and wonder how the eagles manage to find good fishing in the inlet. This may be why we see them coasting up the hill on the thermals at times?

It was around 1:30 pm when I started checking on the nest from the west side. Did not see much other than 1 of them sitting on the nest.
I went to my perch to watch for a bit when I spotted Urban Eagle at the park as I tried to find his number out of the corner of my eye the 1 in the nest flew out and headed towards P.C.T. dock. As it approached P.C.T. it did a circle above the old CP Mill pilings and flew back to the nest. Within a minute the other eagle came to the nest tree and roosted above it. The 1 in the nest flew out and watched as it flew back in the direction it flew the first time. I turned my attention back to the nest in time to see the one that had perched above the nest jump down to the nest to settle in.
It was on the hunt but I am not so sure it was a fish as I was looking back to where the old CP pilings I saw the other one and grab something from the mud flat/Pilings then fly back to the nest. I am not sure what it was but you can see it in clutched in the talons as it was flying back to the nest. I kept looking but there did not appear to be any young that may have hatched yet but it stayed at the nest for a short time with with the other one then flew off and landed on the Peco basket in the mill. I went over and took some pictures of it on the basket while it gave itself a cleaning for quite a while before a sea plane flew low overhead and it left and headed across the inlet for a quieter spot.

Go here for the pictures as I have placed them in the order that I took them. All 56 of them ( I took 175....chuckle)
syrinx: My camera is a Nikon D60 with a Nikon 55-300 mm auto focus lens. I do not have a 2x for yet but I am looking for 1.
Larry send me an email and let me know what video editing software you have and I can guide you through the process of "shrinking" it down before uploading it.
Cheers all

Peter & Larry - I haven't posted in a while, but wanted to thank you both again for sharing all your wonderful photos with those of us who don't have the same opportunity, talent and/or equipment that you both have. I thought it was so funny to see Peter's picture of Larry!
I guess I wasn't far off in my original guess that Peter must be near the top of the sawdust pile, but I couldn't have really imagined HOW close my guess was!! haha Fantastic vantage point. As others have mentioned, though, I hope you are harnessed! I wonder if there are any little ones there yet today?!
Isn't it about time we started to get a little sunshine before it is officially summer??

Yes, I think the photo of the eagle doing his tail feathers is quite unique, isn't it? Great.
As for the sunshine, I just saw a remark from the White Rock group to say it is starting to rain over there, so summer not here yet.

Pat - yes, I LOVE that one, and there are also a number of fantastic in-flight photos (one quite close up) that are really remarkable! I just can't wait until we get a few sunny days in a row! Trouble is, at this point, looks like we'll miss out on the lovely cooler, sunny Spring days and go straight from winter to summer! Hmph! I like the cooler Spring temps. LOL

Hi all,
No worries as my perches are very safe to take pictures from.
I was down for a short time today around 1:30 and watched as they were both at the nest and even with my camera it was hard to tell what they were doing. I kept clicking away hoping to catch a glimpse of a young maybe being fed but at the end of it all they were just doing some tiding up in the nest as in one of the pictures you will see Pa bringing a twig to the nest .

After watching Spring start to creep in the shots I spent a little time looking for another perch without the leaves in the way. As you can see on the 3rd from last picture the leaves and the last 2 are from my new perch. Same height but a little further away and moved over so that I get a little better shot at nest level. The first few are at the Peco deck looking east at the nest then my old perch.
You can see some of the pictures from today here.
I. like everyone else, am waiting for sunnier days as with the sun the pictures will be crisper and sharper.
I am hoping they hatch soon.
Cheers to all.
