Thank you Puddzy. My condolences regarding the loss of your daughter. On Caye Caulker there are many dogs and cats and the humane society there had a program to spay and neuter them as well. Thank you for your good work!

I have been corrected about my pix of the " juvenile" brown peilcans. They are actually mature ones. For some unknown reason I have an " edit" feature on some of my posts and not on others. I am not able to edit the post of the pictures of the pelicans. Puzzled

You take beautiful pictures .You must have a wonderful camera In3rd world countries I also take treats & supplys for the School children as well as what ever med eqipment i can get ( my son works in a hpspital they have boxes for 2rd worid countries)

As for problems with the edit i sometimes just go ahead & post & when I go back to my post . I can then edit

Its great you can see the Sidney nest Iwish they do something about flyer though & soon Did yo se the pictures of leg close up
His claw is bend sidwards fingers crossed

Thanks again pudzzy1.
This was my first visit to a 3rd world country and certainly will not be my last. What an eye opener indeed! My husband and I are not all inclusive resort types and not cruise ship types. We recognise and appreciate that type of no worries getaway from our long northern winters here and I am not saying I will never avail myself of that opportunity but thankfully we are still young enough and now have the time to travel as opposed to vacation. Travelling is the only way to actually experience a country, it's people, its wildlife and it's culture. Otherwise you could be virtually anywhere in the sun,at the beach, with wait staff at your beck and call and the sanitised artificial barrier from the country and the real world. So much of the world has been spoiled already. The huge environmental cost of traveling by cruise ships and by air...........I am still feeling guilty about flying to Belize and I already have another flight planned in June. So, I am doing the `carbon offset` thing and hope that at least truly helps and satisifies a bit of my conscience. But that discussion is for another thread.....................

Three wee woodpeckers. There was quite a variety of woodpeckers there. These look a bit like our Downy. They must be babies.
