Hello Lori...Yes, I had asked Pat to fix the threads for me yesterday after finding out that these nests were active....we needed 2011 threads. She very kindly did them for me before she left on her trip. beans had found out that the one cam, Latvia, was active after I had checked for a while and had seen nothing but an empty nest. I went to check the other one in Estonia, and found Mom sitting on that nest.. I was a TA here last year as well and aside from beans and a few other posters, I was nearly the only one posting here.. I will say that fortunately I started to observe after the chicks were down to one in the nest, if you know what I mean!!very embarrassed I hope each of these two nests ends up with only one egg ...that would make it easier!!! I think last year not many people really knew these European nests were here on the forum and they really missed a beautiful White Tailed Eagle nest in Estonia. Unfortunately that pair isn't nesting this year. Sad

Your scaps were really beautiful!! love I have never even seen a male LSE. It seems that with the LSE and Bonelli's eagle in Spain that the Mom does most of the chick raising. I think Dad does both "his duty" and food drop offs and that's about it. We will try to find out this year!! I watched last night but not this morning...I'm glad that you did and got us those wonderful scaps!!! Thank You again!!!!

Oh you're very welcome Mary love I'm glad you liked them and thanks for the added info on the other nests! There's too many nests for people to possibly follow that's the issue but who cares right? We just enjoy the ones we find is how I see it Titter

Some people don't like the busy threads like Sidney, WR and others so those are the ones that need to be dialed in to these less known ones....we'd get coverage and they'd get peace. It would be a win/win

Anyway, I won't be watching any siblicide on any nest as I said already but I will be keeping an eye on this cam when I get a chance and will post when I do

and late afternoon into evening with a great view of the egg and I'm not sure but it sure looks like there could be a hatched chick below and on the left side of it! click on this to full size and see what you think

I've only seen the male that once and I've not seen food on the nest at all yet but the cam's not running great and I'm not always watching

Metras is sleeping right now. I suspect between 2 & 4 AM EST would be a good watching time to see if there's an appearance by the male with food. If I'm up I'll try that and if anyone who stops by could try then too maybe we'll see some food

9:19 PM Metra is out and so am I Out

Good question, Lori!! I really can't tell even with a 2x click. Unfortunately I have no idea how long she has been on the egg either. I'll go to the forum later and see what I can find out. Chin

That would be great Mary to know more, the more I watch the more confused I get! I got him coming in again and all he does is mount her and leave...no food. Now if she's already sitting on an egg and anything produced now wouldn't show up for over a month...what's up with that??
