Ma at Anderson Hill. I saw Ma and Pa out together on saturday. Didn't think they left the nest unattended.

I visited all 3 nests in Oak Bay last Thurs. morning, May 19th, and I'm happy to report there are eaglets in all 3 nests. From what I could see, there are 2 eaglets in each nest.
When I arrived at Anderson Hill Park I spotted 2 eagles flying over the waterfont and it looked like there was a chase going on. I couldn't get many good pix because they were quite far away and kept disappearing behind the houses because they were flying so low. At first I thought they were both the pair from the Anderson Hill nest but then noticed that one had some darker tips on its tail feathers. They both landed on Trial Island and a short while later one flew towards Anderson Hill and landed in its usual perch tree. I managed to get a few pix before heading down the road to see the nest. As I was walking out of the park towards the nest, I heard a swooshing noise, looked up and one of the eagles flew right over me and towards the nest, with a fish in its talons. It was too quick to get a pic but what a spectacular sight. I headed down the road and the eagle was in the nest feeding the eaglets.
This first pic is the 2 eagles soaring over the water with the Olympic Mountains in the background. You can see the darker tips on the tail feathers on the eagle on the right. Click 2X bigger.

Here's a pic of Anderson Hill Dad in the perch tree after he chased the younger eagle away, taken from the lookout area on Anderson Hill. Click bigger.
