Durand is the female. I believe she came from the Hamilton (Ontario) Sheraton nest box in 2009.

The latest word is that the person that killed Scout is still in the court system.

OhioWatcher, thank you for that information. I continue to be disgusted that the killer of a FEDERALLY PROTECTED BIRD hasn't been dealt with. When you have an update from a local newspaper or television news, please post it here.

Video: Durand Shows Us Her Bands

Trooper hasn't been seen for some time, but there's a new unbanded male making regular visits and bringing gifts of prey to Durand.

Video: Durand Incubates her Five Eggs

Her first nesting experience and she needed to figure out how to incubate all of the eggs. At first, she had them divided into two scrapes. Now they are all together.

From the website:

"The primary job of the male during the incubation phase is to provide food for Durand. He should also take over incubation duty when she leaves the nest to eat. Keep in mind this is likely his first time nesting as well, so it may take some time for him to realize what he is supposed to be doing."

Recorded at 3:30 PM local time

Falco peregrinus

1st egg: 4/3
2nd egg: 4/6
3rd egg: 4/8
4th egg: 4/10
5th egg: 4/13
Expect hatching to begin: A successful hatch requires 32-34 days of consistent warmth, but she has had them in separate scrapes and has not been consistent with incubation.
