This isn't K10 and K26, this is the Sauces pair. They found K10 and K26's new nest but are unable to put a cam on it at this point so they moved the cam to the Sauces nest on Santa Cruz. They are incubating 2 eggs! I really miss the PH pair (my favorite pair next to Delta OWL) but it will be nice to get to know another pair on Santa Cruz!Smile

Sorry I just thought it was the PH nest due to the link. I only looked in on the nest a couple times last year.

HelloHi Iona, I have watched the PH pair since that first year in 2006. They were so young and such fabulous parents that I really fell in love with them. I sure hope they can get a cam going again for them next year but in the meantime at least I have another cam I can watch at work and it will give us a chance to get to know another pair on Santa Cruz and I must say it is really quite a pretty view, quite different from the other nest cams in the Channel Islands!

An exciting piece of news from a helicopter survey of Santa Cruz, there was a familiar face seen Smile

Red Heart

Only 5 years ago we watched A49/Cruz grow up, not so long ago she was a chocolate brown juvie:

Also A64/Spirit from the 2008 nest was seen flying around:

From the helicopter they were also able to get a brief view of the new PH nest, and K10 appeared to be brooding - hopefully Egg Hatch

Very Happy

That is great news Ostrich - Thank you for posting it. Doesn't Cruz look magnificent!!!!

K10 /26 new nest looks just as stark and unappealing - no shade - no protection from the elements or invaders - as their old nest.

Great pictures - and wonderful to see A49/Cruz all grown up!

The one advantage this nest has (besides privacy Titter) is that it's closer to the water - so the adults won't have to go so far from the nest to get food.

I've set up a thread for the Sauces Canyon nest - their first chick hatched this evening! love
