Thanks for all the updates, eaglet! They are such handsome young eagles - really amazing to watch! And where did they get those huge wings? It seems only yesterday that they were little balls of fluff.
It does sound as if our viewing season may be coming to an end - this was posted on the cam site today:
"1 April - Empty Nest? The eaglets are playing April Fool's tricks on us by flying to branches adjacent to the nest. They should start making longer flights any day now. Check our Facebook page for updates on the status of the birds. Our signal will continue to degrade as leaves emerge and block our transmission across the lake. We expect to lose the connection within the next week or two. "
It does clarify that they seem to be branching, and likely not fledged - though that is definitely coming soon. But I hadn't realized that the camera would only work until there were leaves on the trees - perhaps something for them to work on for next year. They are 11 weeks old now (older was yesterday and younger will be tomorrow), so will indeed be fledging any day now. It's been a wonderful journey - and my thanks to the folks at North Carolina State University and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District for making it possible for us to watch these eaglets grow.

Hi Judy! Thanks for that info, I hadn't seen it as I have the window closed in tight to just see the cam.
Well, so far, nothing. It usually doesn't take THIS long to come on.
I will miss watching these two, they're just so fascinating. I remember you wrote in January that there was no sibling rivalry. I don't recall seeing any at all with these. Even just yesterday they were sharing a fish. I keeping hoping the cam will come on, but I guess I shouldn't count on it...
I echo you in thanking NC State and the Army Corps of Engineers in making this possible!
Still keeping my fingers crossed that yesterday was not the end of the cam.
