Thanks for the info Bob.
Each day we expect to see an egg and so far they have kept us in suspense. It could be the miserable weather that slowed them down this year.

The Hornby eagles did a similar thing a couple of years ago. They worked on the nest and got our hopes up and then they skipped laying eggs that year.

I just posted to another subject heading in error, clearly! What I was trying to communicate was that as of this AM the Lafarge Eagles are brooding on the nest. At about 9 AM there was a call from the one brooding on the nest and within a short time the other eagle took over. Unfortunately it appears the egg is right behind a branch so there was no point in capturing a shot of the action.

Just so people know...

I spent about 3 hours at the Lafarge site today, working with one of their contractors to see if we could get the close-up camera working.

I regret to say that this is not going to happen this season Sad

There are many potential reasons for this but the bottom line is - even though we put a new power connector on the cable and routed around the electronics at the top of the feeding tower (previously used for the original Bosch camera that was there) we could not get any signs of life out of the new camera.

Repairs will have to wait until after the chicks hatch and fledge and the birds leave for the salmon rivers some time near September.

Hi...sorry for not posting for a while...I have to go to work sometimes. For everyone's info Pa spends most of his day out on the barge conveyor structure...until he's called in by Ma to take a shift. Let's hope we get see all three in the brood this year.
Thanks Richard for the cam info...all the best and out...bd.

...it's a dreary day down here today. Went to the web cam and watched Ma for a while. She doesn't look happy. It's raining steady and a bit chilly outside as I watch the nest this morning. Pa is no where to be seen. Not on the perch or out on the barge conveyor stucture. Perhaps he'll be in soon. Ma is very low in the nest with her backside to the rain....bd.

,,,still pretty chilly down by the water this morning...watched both birds for a while. they seem to be enjoying...something. Haven't posted for some time...they both seem to be doing great. The Port has installed very tall street lamps...halides that will bring a lot of light onto the street and surrounding areas..so we'll see how that has an effect if any...there's already enough light pollution coming from the Port....LaFarge was cooperative with their lights so we'll see if the Port has the same sense of decency....Cannery Row building/strata has already sent letters regarding these new street lamps requesting they be cowled...we expect they will do nothing and that they will use the "port security" as their reasoning to do nothing about this added lighting and how it affects the neighbourhood...bd.
