Hello!
Terry here! I am here to see if you might be able to pop by the Lafarge Nest at some point on the Weekend. We believe Chakchak is close to or even possibly has fledged. Any report from the ground would be awsome! This is a 'generic request' that i'm placing in all the local Content Provider threads....
Thanks!
Terry
I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made

Started a. Quick tour of the local nests at Jericho. I'm very sorry to report the nest from last year is "gone". There is no sign that it was ever there. We will need to watch for a new nest in the area. Next stop Vanier.

Did a quick drive by at Jericho, after a tour of the other local nests. Didn't get out of the car (too cold -2 celcius) but I didn't see any eagles at Jericho. Couldn't see any new nests, last years nest tree is still empty. But the water at the base of tree has frozen solid. (Well at least the surface is frozen.).

Dropped in just before 4:30pm this evening. Still haven't found a nest a Jericho, but I did find one adult. Looks like it may be 4 or 5 years old. In the right light, you can still see some dark feathers around it's eyes. It was sitting on top of the bent tree next to the parking lot. A couple of trees over from the old nest location (2009 I think).

Thanks Keta. Excellent job with the video. I really enjoyed watching it. Also good news that there is more activity at Jericho again. Hopefully they will pick a better nesting spot... If not, they were sucessfull last year.

My first stop at Jericho since they built the new nest. It's at the back of the trees, so it makes it easier to see from up the hill. Should make for better photo ops once the egg(s) hatch. One adult on the nest, the other could not be found, but some walkers reported it might have been over in the Cedars. About 5 minutes after I arrived, the adult in the nest must have needed a stretch as it took off, flew out and around the block then went back to the nest. Just a quick stretch of the wings I guess. I'll post some pics tomorrow morning. Also there were several Northern Flickers on the power lines above where I was shooting. A couple of years ago, I didn't know what they were, now I see them everywhere. Hope you all had a good weekend.

I was surprised by how small the Jericho Nest is.
