Weather - "Vian, OK - Today 2/9/2011
At 6:45 AM...National Weather Service radars continued to indicate light to moderate snow over most of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. The activity was moving to the east at 30 miles an hour. Through 8 AM...light to moderate snow will continue across the majority of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas...with the bulk of the activity along and north of Interstate 40. Hourly snowfall amounts up to one inch will be possible south of Interstate 40...with one to two inches per hour to the north of Interstate 40.
Hi: 21° Areas of blowing snow in the morning. Snow in the morning...then mostly cloudy with chance of snow in the afternoon. Snow may be heavy at times in the morning. Snow accumulation of 5 to 6 inches. Total snow accumulation 5 to 7 inches. Highs in the lower 20s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent. Wind chill readings 1 to 6.
Lo: 2° Partly cloudy in the evening then clearing. Lows around 3. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph decreasing to up to 10 mph after midnight. Wind chill readings 4 below to 9 below zero."

Mom struggles to free herself from underneath Dad's protection.
Dad refuses to let her up. A case of "Father Knows Best."

Mom did get most of the snow off her wings and briefly checked the eaglets (caught a glimpse of grey fuzz).

Oh dear - that's a lot of snow. I know they've got a nice warm nest, and they sure know what they're doing, so the little ones should be fine. It sounds as if it will let up later in the day - so they should be able to do some feedings then. Keeping fingers crossed.
