Mom was up again and repositioned...
but missed a view of the eggs.

Mom wings looked heart shaped ...her wings
are open slightly and then relaxed at her sides
nearly like she is resting her body weight on her
wings as she shields the eggs
so cute!

9:55am,
Iced feathers.


Calling out, picking at the ice on her left shoulder. Shaking her feathers. Checking the treasure beneath her.


Sequoyah's got most of the ice off her feathers but not all.


10:13, Sequoyah's body position is facing 3; head up and looking around.

Cal Great captures thank you so much . Is is reassuring to see Mom moving so well! The poor eagles are not likely used to snow....feel so bad for them! Good thing they are tough!

The word for Mother in the Cherokee language is, "e-tsi" (English phonetics, "ay jee".

Dad has arrived and taken over incubating. Mom stretched a bit, and is now standing beside Dad. Perhaps she knows that she can protect a larger area, so wants to return to incubating rather than go off for breakfast.

Cal that is cool thanks. We just had a switch got a partial view of one egg perhaps a crack not sure.

1035 am
Mom and Dad did a switcharoo.
Mom got up and shook her wings out
while Dad took over. Mom moves over
to the edge of the nest near 5 shakes out
her wings some more then returns
and huddles over Dad so cute.

may be a crack not sure need a better look.

This is so cute Mom is shielding Dad with her body
too. The weather is so bad you can barely make out
the nest tree...see the scap below.

It looks as if Mom/E-tsi is sheltering Dad now - what a pair.

10:52 am, Dad (Wohali) is gone now. Mom (Etsi) is facing 2ish, ice still on her shoulders.

A few pics of both Mom and Dad from earlier. I'm sure that Etsi enjoyed the warmth provided by Wohali; hopefully he can find food for her soon since she does NOT want to leave the nest.
