Here are two photos that I believe is a Peregrine Falcon. I was quite a distance from this bird, so the photos aren't sharp, but still recognizable as a Peregrine, I think ?? These were made yesterday in Western Whatcom County, Washington State.

For those of you in NW Washington state, there is an birding event that you may like to see.
A flock of Dunlin shorebirds are hanging out in Skagit county, just beside the Bayview * Edison road. This is lunch for the local raptors. Regularly, a few bird watchers gather to watch the show. When I was there, we saw a Peregrine Falcon make a few hunting passes. It was unsuccessful, but other folks said that they had seen a Falcon take a Dunlin earlier. A couple days ago, a friend of mine was there. He reported seeing three Peregrine Falcons and a Northern Harrier all hunting at the same time. A show worth seeing for those interested in raptor behavior.

PacNW: Nice pixs of the red-tail and the owl. It would be interesting to observe the Dunlins and the predator. I've seen eagles attack into a flock of snow geese in Skagit County. I guess it's survival of the fittest. -- Ed
