Here are a few pics of the Lochside Dr. eagles, taken Thurs. Nov. 4th. When Arlena and I got to the nest site, I spotted one of the eagles (Dad) perched on top of a tree near the nest tree. Mom was perched in a snag at the back of the property. A few minutes after we arrived Dad flew to join Mom in the snag and they perched there chatting to each other. Click 2X bigger.

This eagle was perched in the tree by the corner of Lochside Dr. and McTavish Rd. last Thurs. Dec. 30th. When I see an eagle fly from this tree it usually circles over the Pat Bay Hwy. and flies towards the South Airport nest which I believe blew down last year. I don't know if the eagles have re-built that nest but I have seen eagles perched in the trees by the parking lot at the airport where there was a red-tailed hawk's nest a few years ago. This eagle looks a lot like the eagle in Doug's photos above, taken at Cy Hampson Park on Lochside Dr. There were no eagles at the Lochside Dr. nest further down the road. Click 2X bigger.

The eagle nest we call the S. Airport nest blew down last year. I have seen a pair of eagles perched in the trees beside the parking lot at the Victoria International Airport which is not too far from the S. Airport nest. On Sunday I spotted this nest which wasn't there the previous time I went by. I'm hoping it is the eagles from the S. Airport nest that have been building this nest and will check back on it regularly. Click 2X bigger.

I went by the Lochside Dr. nest yesterday; no eagles in sight but the nest looks good

It might be my imagination or just wishful thinking, but when I went by the new nest beside the airport parking lot it looked bigger than the last time I saw it. Here is a new pic to compare with the previous one. Click 2X bigger.

Here are a few pix of the eagles I believe are from the nest on Lochside Dr. They were perched in a tree a few blocks south of the nest, where they have been seen regularly. Click 2X bigger.

I went by the Lochside Dr. nest last Friday and there was an eagle in the nest incubating, on the right side. I didn't see the other eagle anywhere. Click bigger.
