On the way to the dike I noticed this Red-tailed Hawk perched right beside the road. I took the pics from inside the car.

I found one or the two nests back here, but until they open the dike to motorized traffic again, I won't be checking on this very often.

Riding back to my car I noticed a Northern Harrier (I think) soaring above.

Another lovely day and not too bad for bird sightings seeing as how I wasn't really looking for anything. Smile

Scott, Indeed a lovely day you had. The Red-tail Hawk shots are beautiful, you caught the light on it perfectly. I love the series of the Great Blue Herons fishing moves, they are great to watch when they are on the hunt. Wonderful shot of the eagle on its nest and the other on the branch. Left thumb up It is great you pulled your bike out and rode it on the adventure, a very good way to see things and still travel.Smile Great outing my friend.Clapping

WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!

Scott - you've come a long way, baby! Left thumb up

Really amazing pics on your new thread (WTG, BTW!!!) - I've now finished going through all pages and you have really been in the right places at the right times for some great photos.

Seeing them all at once is pretty much overwhelming as far as making comments - but the eagles in flight are awesome and the sunlight on the RTH you got out the window is stunning! And then there's the regal GBHs...well, my SM is gonna be drooling when he sees all of those...I sent one of the "in flight" pics to him at work this morning and just know he's gonna love opening that email!

Your enjoyment of what you are doing sure does show - not only in your pics, but your commentary. I'm loving going on your adventures with you! love

P.S. With the weather forecast this weekend, there might be some new snow on Mt. Cheam soon!!!

ETA (5 hours later)...I thought you'd appreciate Elbowman's response to that email I sent:
She said, "You’ve got to check out Scootie’s new thread – some awesome pics there! Here’s one of them…"
He said, "Scootie! You da' man!"

Hi Linda & Kat. :hello:

I was surprised the Red-tailed Hawk didn't fly off as they usually don't let me get that close. It was perched in a perfect spot by the road and must have been used to the traffic going by. I stopped quite close to it and all it did was look back at me every so often, then kept checking the field for dinner.
Snow will be on Mt. Cheam very soon!
Titter Cool that Lance liked the pics too.
Thanks for stopping by with the always nice comments. Smile

Scott ~ The pictures from your bike ride are great...RTH are super shots sitting and flying too. The eagles I love to see and the Herons are all pretty. Mt. Cheam I always like seeing...something about that mountain....
