The other one was still perched in the tree.

I continued taking pics and as I was changing some camera settings the eagle flew off. I couldn't spot it so it must have flown off directly behind the tree. Frustration

Hi Scott, Hello

Wow, you have caught some beautiful shots of your eagles perched and in flight. I love them all. Great catches of Red-tail Hawk and Great Blue Heron in flight too. That squirrel sure had a mouth full. Great Job my friend. I look forward to seeing more.Smile

Scott, What wonderful photos of the RT Hawks. I like the pic of the eagle where he is turning his head upward while flying. Beautifully done. Smile

I went out for a later afternoon drive and checked 5 eagle nests. No eagles in the nest trees but I did see 2 pair from a distance eventually.
The first bird I got a pic of was this Heron which I noticed landing. At least it was nice enough to stick it's head above the grasses. Smile

The black squirrel was running along the road then stopped on someone's lawn for a snack.

As I was scanning the tree lines I spotted two eagles perched from a distance. I drove to that area and realized they were a block or two from the Camp River nest.
These two do not sit around for pics. I stopped the car and got off a few pics before they both flew off.
