Im loving this

The message I'm beginning to get is that Sidney has no priorities and is "low man on the totem pole" for any upgrades in the future "because it 'may' fall".....so it's not included in the future plans?......I didn't hear any. Only on and on about the blackberries. Boy, what a letdown after all these years and the contributions. I'm outta here.

Thank You Richard for the detailed information on the cam situation. In your first post, #3 is what I wanted to hear, that the close-up cam would be wired and ready to go soon and you and Ken are in the process of making that happen shortly. Thank you very much. It will be great to have that beautiful view of our Sidney eagles again.

HelloRichard, thank you very much for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to explain the details of the Sidney cam project (again). I sincerely hope that the members will accept this explanation and exercise some patience while we wait for the close up cam to be connected and Ma & Pa to lay eggs in the springLeft thumb up I'm sure the necessary work at the nest property will be done before mating begins and eggs are laidLeft thumb up

Kay, I sure hope the Close-up cam is up and running to see Ma and Pa in the nest this fall! We are ready for that to happen soon as possible. We are not as fortunate as you are to see them in person. Next week is not soon enough.

waveLinda, I know members are anxious to see Ma & Pa and I am willing to make the trip to the nest site as often as I can until the close-up cam is connectedNodding I will post pics if I see Ma and/or Pa. They don't usually hang out in the nest too much when they first return but I know how much fun it is to watch them nestorating and interacting with each otherGrin They are very entertaining and are such a committed lovey dovey coupleLeft thumb up

After speaking with Judyb yesterday I understand now why my second post was removed but I still don't think removing the first one about the repair guy we arranged was either called for or necessary. But the second one I made assumptions that people would understand I meant for David, Richard or Ken to be calling Epicure. I was saying I bet they're weren't and that they should be to offer volunteers to cut the berries

Everything I do is about helping around here so why would I of all people tell everybody to call them and risk losing our Sidney cams for good? Seriously people. It's my fault for my bad wording. The worst thing anyone can do is bother Epicure in any way that doens't have the authority to so if you're entertaining the idea don't do it please!

No need for reply I just wanted to apologize for my bad wording in the post but thank those for showing me how little you know me. Feel free to remove this too I couldn't care less

Before making what may seem to be "obvious" observations about whether something can be done by volunteers, you should contemplate the following:

Land used by a business can and many times does fall under the rules of agencies like Unions, Workers Compensation (or whatever they call themselves these days) and other impediments to the use of volunteers and uncertified help.

It would be nice if such were never the case but it is.

This has affected several of our camera sites and will continue to be a problem that takes time and inventive solutions to deal with.

Nothing is ever as easy as it appears on the surface. Setting up video cameras in nest sites is one of those that looks easy but is not.
