Sitting eagleHere are a few pics of one of the South Airport eagles, perched in the usual tree at the corner of McTavish Rd. and Lochside Dr. I'm surprised that the eagles still perch there with all the noise and dust from the work going on at that intersection for the new overpass to the airport. Here are a few pics of one of the Lochside Dr. eagles, on the beach below Cy Hampson Park on Lochside Dr. taken on Aug. 12th. Both eagles were perched in the tree beside the beach when I arrived and this one flew from the tree, circled around and landed on the beach. When a fellow came down to the beach with his dog the eagle flew off towards the area of the nest. Click 2X bigger.

Here's a few pics of the other eagle (looks like the female) perched in the beach tree below Cy Hampson Park on Lochside Dr. These pics were all taken with the sun behind the tree and me standing on the beach in the shadow of the treeRoll eyes Click 2X bigger.

Here are the last 2 pics of the Lochside Dr. female eagle flying from the beach tree, towards the nest area. Again I had the sun behind the tree and I was standing on the beach in the shadow of the treeRoll eyes You can't always get the optimal shooting conditions before the eagle flies offRoll eyes These pics will probably be the last ones for the season, until they return in the fall. I added a pic of a blue heron that was perched on a rock near the beach where the male eagle was standing. Click 2X bigger.
