Welcome to the Glacier Gardens Eagles Nest thread.

The nest is located within the Glacier Gardens, in Juneau Alaska. Many thanks to the folks at Glacier Gardens for providing us with the opportunity to watch these eagles. Hopefully there will be a fuzzy chick to watch fingers crossed

Here is some info on the eagles, from the Glacier Gardens web page. Scroll down the page for the live cam view. http://www.glaciergardens.com/eaglecam/

Eagle Web Cam
A pair of Alaskan Bald Eagles built a nest on the Glacier Gardens property in 2004 and since then have fledged several adolescent bald eagles into the great Alaskan wild. In 2010 we set up a video camera in an adjacent tree to capture some fascinating images as the couple returns each year to raise their offspring. Below is a live stream of the video feed where you can watch as Mamma and Poppa eagle tend to their nest and the baby eagle grows up before your eyes.

Update
Spring 2017 The eagles have been sitting on their egg since (about) April 21st and have remained protective of their nest area to fend off predators and intruders interested in the eagle. They continue to add moss and branches to fortify their nest and protect their eaglet from falling from the nest once it hatches. We expect a baby eaglet to show itself at the end of May and be nest bound while it grows and learns to fly before taking its first leap of faith into the great Alaskan wilderness in September!

Recently upgraded to a 4K HD streaming experience, the nest is now streaming live around the world on YouTube and this webpage. Share the link with your friends and enjoy watching the live HD footage!

You will find additional information on the Glacier Gardens web page. I had the pleasure of visiting the Glacier Gardens in the spring of 2005 when in Juneau on an Alaska cruise. It is a beautiful serene atmosphere and I hope you enjoy watching this pair of bald eagles Left thumb up

Here are some s'caps of one of the eagles in the nest incubating the egg, taken last night at approx. 9:45 pm. Unfortunately, there is no date/time display on the live feed. The egg is due to hatch at the end of May.

Hi! The egg has hatched. Not sure the exact time. The chick has been seen. I saw this on facebook. I am trying to get a picture of the little one. I wanted to pass this information along.

Thanks WVEagles

I was watching the nest for awhile earlier today. The adult in the nest was wiggling and kept looking down. I didn't see anything in the nest and didn't see any egg shell but I'll keep watching. I've downloaded a screencapture that Terri Bayles posted to Glacier Gardens Eagles facebook page. Can't wait to watch this little fuzz ball feeding & growing Wub
