snow can be an insulator....even if she is covered up she might not be that cold and able to keep her egg or eggs at the right temp....but it is hard to see.....take a lookCool

Thanks soph9, Very encouraging. Grin

Just took a look and at least it looks as if she is somewhat protected from the wind which is rather strong at this time of night, 9:43 p.m. EST.

Lori posted a video from 8:07 this morning on the Maine forum. Unfortunately the title says it all:

Out NCTC - Too Much Snow

I'm not actually sure if it was Belle returning at the end or if Liberty is taking a turn. It almost looks as if there is a bit of dry stuff s/he's tucking in - but it's hard to imagine how they could have kept a dry spot with all that snow. Sad

Someone on the Maine forum also thought they might have seen a second egg - which would make sense as it was due to arrive last night.

The snow does insulate - and an eagle can produce a lot of heat - and the eggs apparently can be chilled somewhat and do OK (no clue how cold or how long) - but it's going to be a long 5 weeks until we see if the eggs hatch.

Hi NTCP wave

Here is a collage of captures Smile I did today!
I have been watching them all day and so far
Mom looks fine Left thumb up

Ma did leave the egg just for a brief period which is
captured on my screen cap.

Mom is eating right now in the nest so glad to see
she is getting some nutrition. She is ripping her meal
apart and enjoying it. I could not tell with
the reflection of the snow if there are two eggs!

430 PM

Mom has finished eating; she did an egg roll and nearly
appeared like she was rolling two eggs but too hard to tell.
