Good Morning Everyone wave

Sorry, I haven't watched this nest enough to know which parent is which. The nest was empty for at least a half hour when I first started watching this am.

Thought I should document as I seemed to be the only one watching.
I'm a little rusty Whistling with posting and screen caps.

Hi Diana wave

858 am
Belle moves up to egg cup area; looked at egg
did an egg roll I think then backed out of the egg cup area.
Stood and looked around abit then flew out of the nest.
I wonder if something is wrong with the egg or Belle just
wants a break Don't Know I sure hope the egg is intact but this
is third time that no attempt to incubate.

919 am
Nest still empty.
Scap of egg cup and nest is below.

926 am
Nest still empty.
Windy gusts continue.

927 am
Belle just returned with a branch a large one

Nest is empty

A moment later adult lands with a stick.
Moves about the nest. Stands in the bowl trying to fit the stick on the rim of the bowl....gives up and sets the stick on the side of the nest in the snow.
No attempt to check eggs or roll eggs. Doesn't seem interested in the bowl at all.

9:28 am
Has found something to eat at the 6:00 rim.

9:33 am
Flies off.

I think it's safe to say they've given up on the eggs being viable. Cry

9:42 am
Flies off to the right of the nest.

Sorry I don't know these eagles well enough to know the male from the female but I believe that may have been Belle.
She's definitely not interested in incubating if there are any eggs in the bowl.
Is it possible, because she laid the last in the snow, that the egg couldn't harden off like it should have and she knows instinctively that it won't hatch later ?
