Since my last post; Dad was back with some nice branches

He placed them here and there. No attempt to incubate the eggs.
Sure seems like they have abandoned the eggs.

Thanks for all your reports and pictures, Debs! It has been hard to watch, but a record of what happened - and how the eagles respond - will indeed be valuable.

I'm thinking this is a very unusual experience - I remember a number of nests that have had snow during incubation - and as you said, many have come through it just fine, and some sadly have not. But I don't remember anywhere having this much snow - do you?

I am glad to see that both eagles seem OK; I did wonder on Friday night if Belle was pushing herself too far. Shoebutton on the Maine forum had a nice post about that - here's the link - Click!

It has been an interesting few days to say the least. The observations today
have me baffled for sure as there has been little attempt to incubate this afternoon.
I guess we will have to see what happens. I remember the heartbreak
of Maine and their nasty storm and the sad outcome there. I do not recall
this much snow at this nest before but then I suffer from short timers too

The adults were back yet again; one of the adults was checking out the new egg cup
but no attempt to incubate at all. Restorations took place and Ma I think was eating
again at 6 oclock.

Just heard some geese and daylight is fading I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

5:55 pm, first mom flies in and begins incubating... and then dad arrives.

6 pm. Dad flies off... mom gets up and flies off about a minute later...

Both adults were back. Ma I think was incubating and then Pa arrived.
There were some sweet moments shared between Ma and Pa was so cute.
Then Pa left and Ma got up and moved to the front of the nest then she left too.

Now adult has returned. I think it is Belle and she is seated on the new egg cup.
Geese are heard again flying over.
