Welcome to this thread. I opened one last year but after not noticing eaglet activity at the nest we were told by a neighbour that a new one had been built after part of the old had fallen away. They raised 1 eaglet in the new nest. We never did find that nest, on a steep slope down to the Strait.
I discovered from a reliable source recently that the original nest we were introduced to is now in use again this year. Cheers We do not know history of the nest beyond that.
Larson Rd. runs off Gower Point Rd toward the water when going out of Gibsons on the way to our Chaster Beach nest. On parking at the end of Larson Rd. the nest is directly before you but higher. You will be standing at the top of the hill that the nest tree is on.

I visited this nest to see Pa flying in with a stick in his mouth. Ma was already in the nest and the 2 proceeded nestorating together. Click on the first picture x 2 to enlarge and see both eagles in the nest.
Ma must have left through the front door unseen while I was taking pictures.

January 23 I returned to the nest. No eagle activity was seen plus no obvious additions to the nest.

Back to the nest yesterday, April 1 to check on the news that it is in use. I could see movement in the nest, and on enlarging the last picture, a white head obvious on our right hand side. Grin

I stopped by the nest twice yesterday (April 16) but wasn't as fortunate as you were Sandra, both times it was very quiet and I couldn't see any movement or head in the nest. Hopefully next time :-)

I stopped by the nest this afternoon, not expecting to see any activity but while I was still parking and in the vehicle an adult flew out of the nest ! Of course I didn't have my camera ready, so was happy to at last see some activity but disappointed that I didn't get a picture.

Fortunately I got out of the vehicle right away with camera in hand because right after the one adult flew off, the other flew in, and I managed to get a few pictures this time WooHoo

While I was there a woman living in the home on the left hand side at the bottom of the road was telling me that they had lived there since 2008 and the nest had always been in use except for last year so they were happy to see it in use again this year.
