Hi everyone ~~ Sassy isn't growing her feathers ~~So sad for her :cry1: Phoebe is flying back and forth and adding material to the nest ~~Sassy is peeking out .

I don't watch this nest regularly - can someone remind me what the average age at fledging is for hummingbirds? Thanks.

Today poor Phoebe seemed to be in somewhat of a pickle. Sassy is getting much more active. I think she must be programmed to fledge, feathers or not. I remember Jewel left before her feathers were ready.

Phoebe sits right on top of a frequently squirming Sassy a lot, trying to keep her contained and can't spend as much time gathering food Oh My

Sassy needs a baby gate on the nest like someone once built for the eaglets, and a net below :!:
