Welcome to the Savannah, Georgia Osprey Nest. This is an abandoned eagle nest adjacent to a protected, nutrient-rich salt marsh along the Georgia coast. The nest sits nearly 80 ft. above one of the six Audubon International Certified golf courses at The Landings, on Skidaway Island, near Savannah, Georgia. Some info on this nest from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology site here .

Over the past year there has been considerable damage to the nest tree caused by storms and the cam was reattached to a platform attached to the nest. A pair of Osprey have frequented the nest for quite awhile and it looks like they are getting serious about setting up house. They have both been busy fixing up the nest and protecting 'their' territory. I am looking forward to seeing little Osprey in this nest in the next few months.

Here are some s'caps from the SavannahOwls cam, posted on their chat page.

Every time I have turned the cam on at this nest, there was no action Sad I have snipped some s'caps that were posted on the chat page today. The osprey have been very busy coming and going, bringing in nesting material and hanging out together.

Feb. 26th - I finally caught the Osprey at the nest a short while ago. The male was very busy moving sticks around the nest while the female sat on the cam support giving him instructions. He flies off, then returns a short while later, landing on top of her. He needs a bit of practice with the mating process Roll eyes He hopped down to the cam support then into the nest and continued his nestorating, coming and going from the nest.

Feb. 28th

I caught a bit of action at the nest a short while ago. When I turned on the cam one of the Osprey was just landing in the nest. It squawked and flapped its wings then the 2nd one landed in the nest. An intruder flew by and one of the Osprey took chase. The other one flew off the nest a few seconds later. Here's a short video.
