THose last 2 are awesome. it's great when you can get a good pic from your balcony. I get to photo the resident RTH's that have a nest somewhere in the ravine next ot our apartment building. I haven't bothered trying to find it. I wouldn't want some of the local idiots to catch on that there's a nest around just like I tend to keep Quiet about the deer in the park.. Click larger

Stim, Nice views of the mature and immature eagles. You must be very close to water.

Pat, Hope you’ll be able to post some RTH photos. Enjoyed your recent photos of deer and especially liked the Hairy Woodpecker with object in its beak.

Mature eagles, 3-30-12. Lots of rain today, but sky began to clear a bit as sunset approached with a bit of pink twinge. Good time for the eagles to dry out. Photos taken from backyard looking at fir tree that has become a favorite spot for eagles. Click to enlarge.

Hello Good pictures Pat and Ed! Yes, our view overlooks Howe Sound and the Coastal Mountains so we get many eagle sightings out front. They seem to be coming closer this year. How wonderful to have a perch tree so close! And Pat it sounds like you get some good wildlife fixes from your apartment. We moved here from Oakville 4 years ago so I am getting used to the new found wildlife all around us on the Sunshine Coast. We've gone from white tailed deer to black tailed.

Kitchen view, 4-4-12. I’ll usually go to the backyard when trying for photos of eagles in snag branches atop a nearby fir tree. I also have a spotting scope on a tripod in our kitchen aimed at the tree to observe the eagles. As luck would have it, I had my camera mounted on another tripod nearby to take some photos of the mature eagles that had again stopped by in late afternoon. I next observed two juvenile eagles fly toward the mature eagles. Something had to give. No time to go outside so I fired off some photos from the kitchen with the window in front of me. Not sure of the results because of the glass but hopefully it shows the chaos. Click to enlarge.
