Welcome to the thread of this nest on Georgia Strait off Gower Point Rd. between Lower Gibsons and our Chaster nest.
It sits on private property between Mabel Rd and 9th St. See google map below.
As one leaves the Chaster Beach area Mabel Rd. is only the second street along Gower Point Rd. towards Gibsons. The 2 territories must be side by side. I would say there is a good chance that the Larson Rd. nest territory could abut on the other side.
I was told by a neighbour who has lived there for 5 years that the nest was in use when she got there. I was told by someone in the area last summer that 2 youngsters had safely fledged, were scavenging on the beach there.
The nest can be seen from the top of 9th St. or the bottom of Mabel St or along Ocean Beach Esplanade on the waterfront.

I was introduced to this nest last summer during fledge time. The youngsters here had already fledged. On returning this fall I found 1 adult in a tree near the nest. Then Pa flew in and mated with her. I wasn't ready for a picture but did get them both in the tree after mating.

Back again on Jan. 23. One adult was perched in a tree near the nest, facing the nest not the water. As we were getting a sense of the area and looking for another perched adult we saw one glide across our line of vision beyond some trees, toward Gower Point Rd. There was not calling by either eagle as this occurred.

Thanks for opening this new thread Sandra, it looks like it's going to be a busy year on the Sunshine Coast. I'll have to see if I can spot this nest next time I'm down that way.

I tend to park on grass at the bottom of Mabel Rd. If you can't find the nest let me know but I'm pretty sure you will find it. I hope so!

Hi Sandra, glad you opened the thread for this nest. Very nice pictures of Ma & Pa.
Our friend Heinz told us that there was another nest further along Ocean Beach Esplanade I wonder if this is the one he was referring to?
