wave Hi Karen!

Yes, it won't be long until I head down to the 5th Hole and catch a glimpse of our beloved Redding Eagles!!!

I've been pretty spoiled this year compared to last year, because we have had A LOT of activity up in the northern end of their nesting territory in the Turtle Bay area! And, all of the young ones we've been seeing has been so much fun to watch!!!

Here's a look back at some of the young eagles who paid us a visit in the Turtle Bay area this season so far...

Sad news to report today folks...Sad

Roger from Riverview sent me some photos this morning showing that Liberty & Spirit's nest suffered some damage in the latest series of storms Sad

We don't know when it happened because Roger hasn't been down to the nest area all week. Rick the Supervisor is out of town, so I can't get down there until he returns on Tuesday. Roger took these photos with his phone so they are not real clear, but you can see what looks like an eagle to the right of the nest. There may even be an eagle in the nest? But, it does show that they seem to be sticking with this nest, even though the Witch's Broom that the nest is within seems to be compromised? Liberty may already have an egg in there so they might not have a choice but to stick with this nest?

Anyway, we are concerned to say the least, and we need all of you to please keep our beloved Redding eagles in your thoughts and send as much positive energy our way as you can muster!

I headed down to TB this morning to check and see if they might have returned to their old nest, which is still intact.

I didn't find them, but I did find this young beauty! Could this be Birdie or Bogey from last year?!?

The young eagle flew over to Dead Tree for a bit, then over to Family Tree.

I was able to get a pic of it on Dead Tree, but had to get heading so couldn't get it on FT...

So sorry to hear about the damage to the golf course nest, Terri. As for the youngster visiting the original next, it is definitely older than one year, more likely starting it's third year soon.
