9:30pm...............David took a few of us HWF members on a nest tour today and one stop was the WR nest. Here are some photos of what we saw. Ma and Pa were perched in a nearby tree, fairly close to the nest.

Checked on a nest just north of our eagle area.
A few young ones flying around while the couple perched side by side on their old nest tree.

They have made a new nest just a few trees away. They are often seen on their old nest, much like our eagles perch on OT.

Below is a link to view some photo’s I took on Crescent Beach this past week, Jan 23 (2017)

As I do visit the area often, I have noticed that once the sun begins to set, you don’t see any eagles flying anywhere. Before that, you’ll see many flying, eating, etc. But once sunset begins it just seems like they all dissapear.

I know, from the cams, that we often see 1 or both eagle pair (or other eagles) perched on a high branch or 2 & appear to be watching the beautiful sunsets themselves.

So while I did not get a photo of an eagle on my most recent visit, there is still an abundance of wildlife everywhere in the area, herons, ducks, seagulls (LOTS of seagulls), and many other kinds of birds.

Sunset is just so incredibly stunning on a clear or mildly cloudy day in Whiterock. Photo’s do not do it justice.

To give you the lay of the land:

I was standing on the beach facing the water, & I took 1 photo directly to the East (Left) of me, & another directly to the North (Right) of me

The WR Eagles nest that we watch on the cams is located just beyond the land that juts out to the East (left) of where I was standing.

Although I was actually out there practicing with a new camera & shared some of the photo’s in the Whiterock Eagle Chatroom, it was suggested I post these in this forum.

Hopefully this is the right thread to post them (a link to them) plus I have attached 1 photo here & the rest can be easily viewed using the link below
