Notes from before the cam was turned on, courtesy of the AEF Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/AEFNestCams, part 1.

August 25, 2016 - an eagle was seen at the nest - and it wasn't Romeo or Juliet!

Eaglespirit posted a video of this handsome visitor here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqGZGKVy4lI - and this is a capture from the video:

The visitor spent some time at the nest, and perched as if she (observers thought she looked large and likely female) was right at home. There's a chance it was a former offspring - but as the eaglets here aren't banded, there's no way of knowing that.

The visitor returned on August 26, and according to the AF cam operators was comfortable enough to take a nap in the nest, though they didn't post a screenshot of that. Eaglespirit did make another video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIyuC7A-0VI - and this capture is from it.

Notes, part 2.

Romeo arrive home at 6:45 am on the morning of August 27, carrying moss for the nest!

The visitor stopped by later that morning - and Romeo kept an eye on her, while he continued to wait for Juliet (humanizing just bit). Eaglespirit posted a video showing both of them - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7Ez3L7dv8U - and this is a capture from it:

Romeo and the visitor were seen on the nest together on August 31st, and the visitor (on left) may have been helping with nestorations (or perhaps only getting in the way). Eaglespirit's video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JvptKfxjHk - and a capture:

Notes, part 3

By September 3rd, Romeo and the Visitor were appearing a bit more comfortable with each other - though it was not the relaxed attitude of a bonded pair - and then at dusk on September 4, another visitor stopped by!

Here are a couple more images of the young visitor the following morning from Eaglespirit's video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwEEUeUTmGw

A few minutes later, the initial Visitor returned, and the younger eagle left quickly.

The pair worked on the nest - and seemed much more comfortable together than Romeo and the Visitor did. Eaglespirit has a video of them here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dgqww4CrXc - and here's a capture:

On September 10th, Romeo and Juliet spent the night at the nest for the first time.
