Welcome to the Victoria Airport Eagles thread for the 2016/2017 season. The property the eagles nest tree is on is in a development area and has not been accessible this past season. Therefore, I don't know if the eagles produced any eaglets. The development is a large area with many houses being built but I'm hoping I will be able to access the road in front of the nest tree in a few months fingers crossed Info on previous years' activities at this nest can be found here.

Saw one adult by the shore across from the airport interchange yesterday afternoon.

I visited the nest area this afternoon and did not see or hear any eagles. I have been thinking they may move back to their old nest on Lochside Dr. next year as there will be ongoing construction in the area of the nest they used this past season Mad

I did a quick tour of some of the nests on the peninsula today and did not see or hear any eagles in the area around the 2 nest sites.

I visited the nest area today, viewing the nest from the side road off Lochside Dr. One eagle was perched on a branch above the nest at the construction site. It flapped down into the nest where the other eagle was eating. It grabbed some of the prey and flapped back to the branch to eat. I recorded a video which I will upload tomorrow. I will post some photos later.

Both eagles in the nest eating yesterday. The one that was in the nest when I arrived jumped up onto the branch the other one was on earlier. It took some prey with it then cleaned its beak.

I did a drive-by yesterday but unfortunately the new subdivision is still closed to traffic. I could not see the nest Sad
