Welcome to the Beacon Hill Park Eagles thread for the 2016/2017 season. This thread is dedicated to observations, photos and videos of the eagles who inhabit this nest in Beacon Hill Park, in the City of Victoria, BC. These eagles have been seen quite often perched atop the totem pole on the edge of the woodsy area, near Dallas Rd. and Cook St. Over the years there have been several nests in the park and sadly for the past 2 seasons the eagles did not produce any eaglets. Info on these eagles for previous years can be found here. Please feel welcome to post observations, photos and videos of these eagles in and around their nest area if you visit the park.

An adult bald eagle was sitting atop the BHP totem pole at 11:45 this morning. Wasn't there on my return trip at 3:00.
It was good to see the eagle back again.

Left thumb up calypso. Thanks for reporting your sighting.

I forgot to post that a friend was in the park on Nov. 8th and asked some workers if they had seen the eagles. The workers said they had seen them and they are building a new nest. One worker said he had seen one of the eagles carrying sticks but didn't say where in the park he saw it. I will have to visit the park soon Left thumb up

calypso: I fixed your picture so it would display in the post.
As a matter of fact, Ian and I walked through Beacon Hill Park this afternoon and we didn't see any eagles. Sad The nest by the children's playground definitely looks like some nestorations have taken place recently though.
We sat on a bench along Dallas Rd walkway overlooking the water for a while , too, and we did see a mature eagle flying toward Saxe Point.

Thanks, elle. I realized that it wasn't posted right, but didn't know how to correct it.
