Welcome to the Saxe Pt. Park Eagles thread for the 2016/2017 season. This thread is for observations, photos and discussion of the eagles who inhabit this nest in Saxe Pt. Park in the Municipality of Esquimalt. These eagles also spend time at the other end of Munro Street at Fleming Beach/Buxton Green and Macaulay Point. Info and photos of this eagle family can be found on the previous thread here. Please feel welcome to post your photos and observations of the Saxe Pt. Park eagles when you visit their nest area.

I spent an hour in the park yesterday and did not see or hear any eagles. I spoke to the gardener who said he hasn't seen or heard them either. They did not have any young this past nesting season and I didn't see or hear them much at all. I hope they return soon fingers crossed

I did a quick tour of the park today and did not see or hear the eagles anywhere in the area. The gardener was busy so I didn't stop to talk.

I went to the park today and was very happy to see the female eagle perched on the usual branch beside the nest. I took photos from various vantage points and while I was at the fence beside the path going up to the rock bluff, she shook then jumped down into the nest. She was still there when I left. I didn't see or hear the other eagle. I'll post some photos tomorrow.

I was very surprised and excited when I looked at my photos; the male was sitting in the nest WooHoo He lifted his head when the female jumped down into the nest. A few times I thought I could see something white in the nest but the lighting isn't the best at this nest site.
