I really am sorry for your loss, Ann. Spongie was so beautiful! I love tabbies. I do know what you are going through. Seventeen is a lot of years of love. They have a way of making themselves at home in our hearts and become true family.

Ann.. I am so sorry to hear about Spongie.. I know how much you loved and cared for him... he was a beautiful friend Ann.. and i know how much you will miss him..

Mary I can tell you love cats--and have lost some too--they really are so special--and today 17 is seeming like such a long time to have been together! We were lucky! Thank you so much for your kindness

Golden1--thank you so much--yes, he'd been sick since last August, but the last month or so he'd slowly been getting worse. He had chronic pancreatitis with some complications.

Stella E--Thank you--I can tell from your avatar that you are a very serious cat lover! Your kitty is gorgeous! It really does hurt...and it will for a while, I can tell

birdofprey--how thoughtful of you--we did have quite a time--and he was quite healthy until just recently--so it was 17 really good years!

Spongie (gray and black stripes) with his very best buddy, Cupper (solid black)--who will really miss him! This was real kitty love!

Hi Ann, I wanted to add my condolences to the others who have come here to offer their sympathy. Those of us who have lost a dear little friend understand, and feel your sadness. Thank you for adding the photos, I loooove Spongie's tail with all those rings. The photo of Spongie with Cupper is adorable and they look so comfy snuggled together.

Ann - So sorry to hear of your loss of your BEAUTIFUL kitty Sponge Cake. Such a whimsical name. It looks like it suited him. So happy you were blessed with 17 wonderful years with your faithful companion. I pray that you and your family, and especially Cupper will be able to bring each other comfort during this time of loss.
