Welcome to the Ardmore Bald Eagle Nest.

This thread is dedicated to observations, photos and videos of the eagles who inhabit a nest located in the Ardmore area of North Saanich on Vancouver Island BC.
The nest is located on private property.
By all accounts and observations this pair did not nest successfully in 2016.
We wish them better success in the coming season.

Had a picnic lunch at the beach at Ardmore yesterday. No signs of eagles yet.

I visited the nest area and the beach yesterday and did not see any eagles or any neighbours to chat with. The nest is intact; hopefully they will return soon and begin nestorations fingers crossed

I visited the nest area this afternoon and did not see or hear any eagles. Their alternate nest on Ardmore by the mailboxes looks a little sad after the good start last season with new sticks.

Someone has been busy at the beach area.

I saw this the last time I was at the beach area. It looks like a statue out on the rocks where the eagles sometimes sit.

I did a quick visit to both nest sites today. I didn't see any eagles but I definitely heard both of them calling back & forth. Just as I arrived there was a downpour so I didn't go looking for them and the tide was very high so no beach to stand on.

Visited Ardmore and Coles Bay nests yesterday. Both were being guarded but we were unable to see any evidence of brooding in the nests.

Ardmore- one was perched in a tree near the nest and was very backlit so no picture.
This one was on the rock in the cove below the nest. The beach was very slippery so this was taken at quite a distance.

A visit to Ardmore today confirms the Coles Bay nest is active but the Ardmore one appears empty. Back with a pic.
