Welcome to this thread. This looks and sounds by reputation to be a very established nest on the Strait of Georgia in Gibsons BC on the Sunshine Coast. Larson Rd. runs off Gower Point Rd toward the water before one reaches our Chaster Beach nest when going out of Gibsons.

HWF members have newly been introduced to this nest this year. No young have been seen yet but adult activity is very suspicious of young here.
Please post any pictures or comments here that you have about this nest.
On parking at the end of Larson Rd. the nest is directly before you but higher. You will be standing at the top of the hill going down to the beach that the nest tree is on.
I suspect the eaglets need to be a good size, looking over the side of the nest before one knows for sure they are there unless their chirping can be heard.

This is a picture I took of the nest the beginning of March.

On my visit to the nest May 30 I could not see the adults in the nest but both were there when I worked with my pictures. Click larger x 2 if desired.

Both in the nest on arrival. One adult head is to the right of the middle branch. The other head is to the right of the left hand branch.

I turned to walk up the roadway a bit and this next picture shows only 1 adult head now to the left of the middle branch, looking down, hopefully at a youngster. I missed the flyaway.

A return visit June 8 revealed no one home. It was an overcast slightly rainy day so the eaglet if there is one could have been down in the nest. I will keep an eye on this nest in hopes of sighting a youngster. I've been told there was at least 1 last year.fingers crossed

Hi Sandra, nice to see that you have opened the Larson Rd. Nest thread. Hopefully, we'll see one or maybe two eaglets there. Thanks for the pictures, yes, on enlarging them you can see Ma & Pa there. Grin I have been to this nest once with you a few months ago and must go again.

Nice to see you as our first visitor here Marg. hug This nest is easy enough to get to (if only a couple of cars) but not to see into! Grin

This looks like a sturdy nest, Sandra. Thanks for posting your observations of it. Talons crossed there are eaglets in it.

Thank you for stopping by Karen.
The gentleman who introduced me to this nest claims some of it has fallen away. He doesn't think it looks as if they have repaired it and suspects the eagles have abandoned it. My sighting of both in the nest looks promising and to me it still looks good. We shall see. fingers crossed
