Took me a while to identify this one. It is a Great Kiskadee

Thank you , elle. Those howler monkeys sound like the sound effects in a horror movie! :huh: I can see how they got their name! I have seen Great Kiskadees in Mexico too; they are pretty little birds. No idea what the bird song might be.

The pelicans are from Caye Caulker a wee island in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Belize . No cars, white sand roads for walking, bicycling and electric golf carts only. Heavenly!

Here's the whole family waiting for the fishermen to clean their daily catch and throw them some scraps.

The critically endangered Harpy Eagle . Photographed at the Belize rehab/Zoo. They have educational programs and breeding programs under way to try to reintroduce endangered species to the wild. It was very difficult to photograph because it was constantly looking around and the birds have wire enclosures so I tried hard to get one without the wires visible.

Behind wires unfortunately but check out the talons. They are as long as my index finger.
