Feel free to help ID this bird! it was always in its nest, I'm not sure if it was a youngster not quite ready to fly, or parent guarding a little one.

and now....the crocodiles. They were in large cages, not free to wander amongst the hotel guests. Titter

feeding time - they were actually pretty lazy and barely moved toward the food Roll eyes

We also saw squirrels, bats, raccoons, vultures (turkey and black), night monkeys, sea turtles (when snorkeling), grackles, and petrels, but no photos or else too blurry. Sad

Thanks Lesley. We are off to Belize in 4 days and hope to see lots of similar wildlife there, too. Many of the same critters as Belize is just south of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
Ian especially loved the picture of the snowy egret and I am partial to the coatimundis.

Wonderful photos LesleyLeft thumb up I'm hoping to see some whales and many beautiful birds on the Hawaiian Islands at the end of this month. We did see crocodiles along the river hiding beneath the mangroves in Costa Rica last year. It's so much more exciting to see them in their natural habitat rather than behind bars in a zooSad
