I just had to share this cutie with you all !

I received an email from one of our school secretaries the other day. She was excited to let me know that she found a Northern Pygmy Owl roosting in her garage.
She was able to capture him and put him out in a tree in her yard. She said he perched there for awhile preened his feathers then finally flew off.

Oddly enough, the week before that I was called to the school board office to check on this Great Horned Owl that was spotted on the roof of the building next door. The crows were harassing him and everyone was quite concerned about his safety. I made a call to Bev Day out at OWL who assured me that it was normal behaviour for crows and that the owl would fly off when he was good and ready. He flew off sometime during that night so we are all hoping he's found a nice place to roost away from the pesky crows.

Judy, What an unusual find. I really like the photo with the gloved hand holding the owl.
