Despite the lack of snow at lower elevations, the views from Eager Hill between Cranbrook and Ft. Steele are breathtaking at this time of year, especially before sunset on a clear day.

On route from Creston to Crawford Bay Ferry on Kootenay Lake. The W. Kootenays is a beautiful area to visit and it is especially stunning at this time of year with snow capped mountains reflected in crystal clear lakes.

The ferry from Crawford Bay to Balfour takes just over 30 minutes and it is free.

It's a short but scenic drive from Balfour to Nelson along the West Arm of Kootenay Lake.
