April 9, 2010 high 30's overnight and low 60's by noon. It is sunny at the nest and all is well.

6:05 eagle has eaglets tucked in and is facing 9.
6:07 eagle is off the nest. The "lets" are snuggled.
6:09 eagle is back in the nest at 3.
6:35 the eagle finally settles over the eaglets. The eaglets are tucked in until 7:39. then the eagle is up at 5 while the eaaglets sleep in the open. It is sunny.
7:55 eagle is eating at 5. KC/Banner are still snoozing.
7:58 -8:06 feeding at 5. The eagle first fed one eaglet then fed the other. Both were fed for about 3 or 4 min.

8:00 other parent flies in at 6 and moves around the nest to 12. It then flies up onto the tree trunk at 11/12. It sat there for about 2 min. could see the tail and back feathers.

8:08 KC and Banner are snoozing again in the open and the adult is watchful.

Banner is now 2 weeks....

I think you're right, Donna - they're taking on a bit of a scruffy look! love

And a Happy Hatch Day to Banner, who is two weeks old today. love

Added
I saw a feeding around 10 am - was busy so didn't count bites, but every time I watched for a moment, both were fed - and both were sitting up side by side whenever I looked - so I'm guessing it was a good feeding for both. Smile

Nice sunny day at the nest. The eaglets have been hop, flop, hopping around the nest and are getting faster.

Here are a few afternoon pictures.Click on image to download

They have had two good feedings through the middle of the day. Both are just getting big.

Have noticed that Dad does not always "turn a blind eye" to the "posturing" on this nest. Have seen him get overly excited by flap-jumping when he sees competition, moving the food to a different feeding location or just ending mealtime for a spell. Good Daddy. love

From 9 to a little after noon the eaglets have been out in the fresh air. They were unattended for more than an hour this morning.....no way to know how near by the adult(s) was (were). KC and Banner were snoozing most of the morning. I did not see a long feeding until about 11 and that did not seem to last very long.

A little after noon an adult settled near the eaglets and they continued to snooze on the front porch. Click on image to download

These were times that the eagle was on the nest.
