Great picture, CAL! I'm not sure there's much that's new here, but it does also show how tall they stand!

Slideshow, JudyB,
They are so tall and proud. It's always so nice to see both parents on the nest with them too.

April 3, 2010 high 20's overnight and high 40's to low 50's today.
6:15 eagle switch
7:01 eaglets tucked under Ma
7:03 sunshine spilling over the nest eagle continues to keep "lets" tucked in
7:08 - 7:16 long feeding. Ma fed each from fish at 5. Appeared that both were fed well.
7:16 Ma settles over the littles and is facing 5/6

thanks Judy and here is a pic of KC and Banner sleeping in the open near Ma.
The eaglets had an 7 or 8 minute feeding at 7:08 and fed again at 9:42.
then they snuggled together for a snooze.
10:07 Ma offered them food again. They went back to snoozing after about 3 in.

Thanks for the update, Donna. I've been watching them enjoy the sunshine, and haven't had much luck getting a picture with the dappled lighting on the nest - and the tendency of only one to pop up at a time.
I remember that KC is short for Kit Carson (quite appropriate, given the older one's tendency to roam around), but don't remember if you said what the reference was for Banner?

Hi Judy,
They have been tucked in much of the morning and in the afternoon they have been out in the sun or in front of the watching parent. It has been windy here.
3:30 to 3:36 they were alone on the nest or a parent was on the fence around 3.
4:30 they are sitting on the front porch with parent right behind them. One is in the sun and one in the shade of the parent.
Banner was one name that just came to me as they carried flags sometimes on the frontier. Eagles fly like a banner of freedom. In my journal most of the time they are KC and B. As I say that I remember this morning I had a more personal understanding of our banner still there from our national anthem when our Sidney nest was still there.....after all that nasty weather.

got the wrong pic but here they are alone on the nest.
this is a nice nest to watch as it is pretty country. These littles have really grown and are going to be an active pair me thinks.....
Happy Easter to all St Vrain fans. Have a joyful Easter Eve.
