another peaceful afternoon at the nest. The weather forecast now includes this area in the snow warning. Most likely about 6 inches could fall by Saturday morning. It will also be much colder. Glad they have lots of bedding in this nest.

This is Ma St. Vrain. The egg cup looks dry. We could have 10 inches by tomorrow morning.

This is quite a change but the eagles are used to the cold and it could happen again before May.

OT: Know just what you mean about Colorado in the spring. Many years ago I spent from Nov - Jun in Denver. Weather can change at the drop of a hat.

Lovely pictures - and quite a change from yesterday! I just checked the dates, and the first egg may be hatching of next week (I'm guessing Tuesday or Wednesday). Fortunately I know that there's often snow on the nest when the chicks arrive (we actually used a s'cap from this nest for a Christmas card a couple of years ago) - and they do just fine! Grin
