Got back from shopping and have been sitting here since the 11:02 switch. Pa relieved Ma and then I have been chuckling as I am watching. He rolled the eggs, settled, sat for about 4 min and then he was up again and moved the eggs and staying at 10 o'clock he repositioned at 9. Then he began to move the marsh reed or corn husk that has been in the nest away from him and then he would bring it closer and then push it away and before I began to type was still moving it back and forth.....maybe he just needs something to DO.

He continues to sit in the sunny nest looking around and pushing that husk or reed around.

11:22 all is calm here.

12:30 both eagles on the nest.
One incoming and one getting up and then exiting at 9. It looks like no one is there but the incoming eagle was on the fence at 3 o'clock.

Eagle rolls the eggs and settles. It is Ma that relieved Pa. She faces 3 o'clock.

Every time I checked in on the nest things were calm. The eggs were rolled and the eagles switched through the day. Here are a few afternoon and late in the day snaps.....Click on image to download

Sunday~March 7, 2010 28 degrees this morning and into the low 50's this afternoon.

Early morning stills show eagle switches and egg rolls. It is a cloudy morning and again there is ground fog.

7:42 all is quiet with an eagle settled over the egg cup.
7:48 facing 11 o'clock.

I had these names pop into my head one morning for these eagles Aspen and Warrior.....I know we don't name eagles at all sites, but this is what I have been calling this pair.....Pa just looks like a valiant warrior in so many of the stills and when on the nest also....Aspen is a gentle resilient tree native to Colorado and there are aspen branches in the nest....the leaves turn the brilliant yellow of the sun that shines on this nest.
