We think there are two eggs, Castor. I was able to watch for a while this morning, but have not been able to connect to the cam lately. Perhaps it will work better soon.

Tuesday Feb 23,

Found this note at the ST. Vrain site this morning: The eagle cams are out of service due to technical difficulties. We apologize for the interruption. At this time, we do not know when cams will be restored.

This next week the weather there will be in the 3o's and 40's with temps in low 50's Friday or Sat.

Some good news - while the streaming cam is still down, the archived still photos seem to be back on line - link is http://birdcam.xcelenergy.com/eagle_day.asp?TOD=123

And the eggs look good:

Starting at 9 am, the pics seem to be from today. The pictures are taken at two-minute intervals, and switch from cam to cam (I think). Please do double check the date in the corner if you see something strange - occasionally a picture doesn't "work" and the one from the previous day will be there until the next time that time slot comes around (if you know what I mean).

What's really good about this - from my perspective - is that the cams are working - which means that the probably can eventually fix whatever is causing the problem with the video. If the issue was at the cam end, they wouldn't be able to do anything until after the nesting season.

7 am
The eagle that was on the eggs got up and stretched, then flew off towards the right. An eagle arrived from the left less than a minute later. I don't know these eagles that well, but I think it was a switch. The earlier eagle's neck seemed fuller and fluffier and the head looked different in some way. Also, she(?) was sitting calmly until she called and left. The eagle on the nest now seems to have a thinner neck, and is picking at the nesting material. Oh - wonder if it's shadows or if there are dark spots on the head - maybe this is she?

Either way, it's nice to see them back - and looks like a sunny day in Colorado!

I did not get back to the cam last night, but it did snow about an inch which you can see in the breaking of dawn stills. The eagle was covered with snow and at an egg roll shook it all off.

It is a blue sky day here and will be in the 4o's by noon....The snow will melt quickly. There were 2 egg rolls this morning....

I hope to be able to check in and get snaps of this nest through the day....the picture on the daily pix page seems to have some action so may be on all the time or in intervals....

I am glad we can continue to keep watch here....

Judy...which cam are you watching to catch that? I could think that a switch had been made on the stills because the eggs were being rolled by the eagle. thanks for the Help emo donna
