It's Christmas Morning and there is snow all over the site,
yet for Santa there is one thing that might give him such a fright, not of delight.
He said to Rudolph, his Reindeer, softly with a sigh,
my Reindeer, please do not let it Rain Dear.....for
Sliding on snow is possible, but rain makes it slick
and then we must be super rapid, super quick.
We are then in the thick of it, tough travels all around,
the ice instead of snow is what will abound!
So Rudolph sent his buddies to deliver the message far and wide,
SNOW on Christmas, not Rain Dear, said the Reindeer with a sigh.
So if you get a ton of snow, remember it is a request,
from Santa to his Reindeer, not to Rain Dear........

Watch the eagle's feathers ruffle,
watch it in the wind. See its meaning in the glory
of a triumphant leaving wing.
We watch and wait, to see what is next,
we know there will be eggs; from which will emerge
an eaglet bold to share in its mother's coat.
It nestles there for safety, the mom never loses sight,
and dad will fill in when she leaves to go get a bite.
We know they eat to grow, quickly so it seems.
But then again, the Hummingbird has eggs which hatch
so quickly it is just the blink of an eye. They then leave
in short time to start their own lives in the trees.
The bears we watch take much longer, they stay with mom a while,
she teaches them to climb trees for safety, while eating berries mild.
Their diet is not what we thought, it is quite based on berries and ants.
So much to learn, so much to share, so much you can almost beware,
as you cannot leave, it transfixes you, the joy of what there might be.
So leave time to discover what is not evident to you and me.

Way back long ago, we found Tiny Tink, the smallest of the bunch,
who when was clearly in need made it clear indeed!
His screech was heard from far and wide, distances away from the nest,
and you wondered how could he do it, such a huge sound for a little eaglet!
As time went on his screech increased, his demands were unrelenting,
his Ma and Pa were not perturbed, just said his time is coming.
One day he was told in no uncertain terms that the time for leaving was NOW,
and if you remember carefully it was Pa who did the deed, Ma stayed away.
After he left, maybe a year we think he might have come back and dear Ma
flew with him in the thermals celebrating a triumphant return of her dear eaglet.
This eaglet was special as he survived a fall, one that could have been disastrous,
for any other with any other Ma or Pa.
We waited anxiously for nine days until the moment came, when the eaglet
in the nest was Tiny Tink who fledged with the best in the nest, like the rest.
Joy everywhere, even in their home in the tree, and we the Screechers,
chose the name Screech Hollow as a remembrance of those days triumphant and free.

Echo Mall
Echo, echo do you hear an echo?
E, the toddler, went bim and bam, it echoed all over the Mall,
the people stopped and turned all around, wondering at the call,
the toddler went bim, they went bam and it echoed from top to bottom.
Down the Hall of the Mall, finding that tall is an echo better than most,
and if you listen quietly you hear it resound from up to down to all around,
and then it will abound and astound, the folks from all around too,
till he says bong and it goes on like a strong gong.
Walk into a store, where the floor is not so remote from the ceiling like a boat,
the bim and bam do not resound, the experiment might be over,
but then again my friends we left behind smiles and joy on many strangers,
who say a glimpse of life and joy found in the smallest of things - an ECHO.

Thanks for the kind words Golden. I have been watching this nest and therefore Delta since she was just an egg. It has been an amazing journey.

Seemed to take Delta a while to stretch her wings and take off. But what a thrill when it happens.
This is my third season of eagle watching and it is an amazing and thrilling journey every year.
So happy that the eaglets touched your heart.
