Here are a few pictures from today (well, yesterday actually, at least on the east coast - May 12). I'm beginning to see the dark feathers coming in - and their beaks and talons are getting huge! Since I guess it is actually Thursday in Maine - Tinker, the older eaglet, is four weeks old today. Happy Hatch Day, Tinker!

Here are some pictures from today. I'd only intended to include one pic of them sleeping, to point out that they were uncovered though it is fairly cool (50F where I am), and that an adult is perched on the edge of the nest, keeping watch - but I didn't close the window after I made my s'cap, and I've noticed that while Jill(?) seems to be sleeping soundly, the little ones do a fair amount of tossing and turning - so I included two pics.

Added - and now both eaglets are up and looking at something, while Mom continues to sleep - and now they're lying down again. I seem to remember that eagles are fairly light sleepers, so am guessing that whatever woke the chicks up isn't cause for concern - but lots of things are probably new to four week old eaglets! And speaking of four week old eaglets - it's now after midnight in Maine, so Happy Hatch Day to Tailor, the younger eaglet, who is four weeks old on May 14!
