This nest is located right in the City of Kamloops situated right beside the South Thompson river.

To access the nest you need to take the Shuswap Road, which is the first exit right after you cross the bridge on Hwy #5 north. The Shuswap Road is a very narrow road so please use caution when travelling to and from this nest. I parked in a trailer court which is right beside the nest.

I visited this nest the last week in June 2010 and again the following weekend. This is the second year I visited this nest...and this year I was delighted to find two beautiful juvies in the nest.

These pictures were taken on June 25

The busy road to the nest note there are no
shoulders on this road so stopping or pulling over is
a huge challenge

Sorry for the delay in posting these pictures. My hard drive crashed Wooh so it took me forever to recover the hard drive which contained these wonderful pictures of this beautiful family. I must say I love this nest because is so accessible and the eagle family seems quite climatized to people as my presence did not appear to upset the juvies or the parents. I felt quite honored to be able to get this close to this family

The nest in this dead tree looks worn out and a wee bit too small for these two juvies.
The tree does not provide any shade either so I imagine it is brutal for the family on hot days
and there are plenty of those in Kamloops.

The nest provides some nice branches for the juvies to practise on but the nest is
way too close to the power lines!

Not far from the nest tree I found one of the adults perched. I also found some other nests further up the road from the nest
but none of these other nests appeared to be in use!
