the most recent video on the web site labeled 1905-2005 shows how Mrs. L takes back her nest. They highlighted the fight between owl and dove!

Mrs L is in nestbox, Mr L is having a staredown with the dove on the veranda. Dove is posturing, lots of puffing out of chest and wing raising, but Mr L stood his ground, and dove finally left. Clapping

I did see some of the posturing with the pigeon and stone owl and there was definately feathers flying in their dispute. Watching two different species fight for their rights to nest was absolutely astounding. Their difference in size didn't cause much hesitation in their posturing and vocalizing back and forth - I think both species instinctual needs are simply the continuation of their species, and one real live drama Left thumb up
Its really something to see, all the battlings' between the wee stone owl and the way bigger pigeon/dove. And their dispute finally ended without bloodshed, only lost feathers - pigeons nest/eggs in the kerfuffle. If only our species had bird brains Smile

I Laugh watching the worms video, mama full so she stashes 2nd worm in lower left corner, goes back to incubate eggs - wiggley worm goes too, tangle in her tail feathers, the look on mrs owls face was pricless....Rolling on floor laughing its a riot Nodding
